In all, they have 2,027 buses, 45 light rail vehicles, and 711 trains in the transit system. 223 million passenger trips are supported each year. NJ TRANSIT does the best they can to ensure buses and trains stay on schedule despite congested traffic, although delays are sometimes necessary.
