O'Reilly Auto Parts Overview

The O'Reilly family opened its official store in 1957 in Springfield, Missouri, but their story actually started long before. Michael Byrne O'Reilly immigrated to America in 1849 because of the potato famine. His son Charles, founder of O'Reilly Auto Parts, went to college in St. Louis and began working as a traveling salesman for auto parts. Charles saw a strong market in Springfield during his travels and eventually teamed up with his son to open their own store in Springfield called O'Reilly Automotive. With hard work, the company earned over $700,000 in sales in its first year in business. By 1975, O'Reilly's had accomplished $7 million in sales.

O'Reilly Auto Parts aims at being the premier seller in the auto parts industry while maintaining the highest standard of business practices. The company has over $6 billion in annual revenue. The company went public in 1993 and has expanded to over 4,200 locations in 42 states.

The company also hires for Accounts Payable Specialists, whose job duties include balancing monthly merchandise statements, assisting with cash dispersment processes and processing daily departmental mail.
