As an intern in NNL’s Reactor/Fueling engineering community, you will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge of engineering with support and mentorship from real-world experts in one or more of the following areas in support of the naval nuclear reactor lifecycle: Methods: nuclear and cross-discipline (i.e., nuclear, thermal, and integrated plant) tools and methods development for use in design and analysis applications, Design: Model development and reactor design using state-of-the art Monte Carlo, deterministic transport, and/or diffusion theory solvers. Naval Nuclear Laboratory personnel are FMP employees who work at four DOE facilities: Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, Kenneth A. Kesselring Site, and Naval Reactors Facility, and at the U.S. Department of Defense-owned Nuclear Power Training Unit-Charleston.
