Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance Manager Overview

Pharmaceutical quality assurance managers are responsible for inspecting pharmaceutical devices, drugs and other products and assuring that they meet product specifications. They may supervise quality control technicians. Pharmaceutical quality assurance managers review the effectiveness of the product and analyze statistical data related to product efficacy and safety and then create reports of their findings and conduct presentations to explain the results to coworkers, other scientists and the public. People in this line of work need to know how to operate devices such as spectrometers to test the quality of medications. They also use sophisticated computer programs to input, review and analyze collected data. They may work with clinical research coordinators, biological scientists and medical researchers.

Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance Manager Education Requirements

To become a pharmaceutical quality assurance manager, a bachelor's degree is the typical education required. People who have earned a master's degree or doctorate in pharmacy, chemistry, biochemistry, management and related fields may be able to climb the career ladder faster than those with a bachelor's degree.
