Essential Duties and Responsibilities: These include the following duties; however, other duties may be necessarily performed: | Establish goals and objectives for the department in accordance to overall company goals, core competencies and values Monitor subordinates’ performance and train as necessary for optimum results Be responsible for the hiring, training and evaluation of personnel for service department in accordance with the Organizations’ policies and procedures Develop and maintain a culture of friendly customer atmosphere Be responsible for staff preparation of all work for the shop assuring that vehicles are in place, parts are available and technicians are properly assigned according to their abilities Review work orders and repair orders for accuracy Schedule work assignments for all those under the Manager's supervision Randomly review all completed work to assure professional quality Assure all business practices are properly maintained Provide accurate and complete record keeping for all aspects of the assigned operation Assist in carrying out the Organization's and Department’s marketing plans Be responsible for quality control of the department's activities Maintain a safe and clean environment Analyze shop performance and make adjustments as needed Assist in preparing and maintaining proper budget and accounting procedures for the Department Maintain good inventory control Assure warranty process is properly followed in accordance with factory policies and procedures Develop and maintain strategies for customer satisfaction . Knowledge of: automotive operations and service, production systems, automotive technical systems, maintenance and repair strategies, computer, software and internet operations, personnel supervision strategies, legal requirements for position.
