Customer service outbound specialists are responsible for communicating with individuals outside of their organization. Collecting information from customers and entering it into a computer database is a routine activity for customer service outbound workers. They may use computerized records to answer customer questions and respond to problems and complaints. Making calls to past or current customers to offer goods and services for sale is another frequent job activity. Some customer service outbound specialists make calls marketing their company's goods or services to those who have never done business with the client. They may offer guidance and advice on using products or scheduling services. The customer service outbound worker may collect client identifiers such as name and address, look up transaction history, deliver prepared sales talks and conduct market surveys.

Customer Service Outbound Job Education Requirements


Generally, customer service outbound job specialists requires less than a high school education. A short period of on-the-job training may be provided by employers so that staff can understand the company's products or services and get acquainted with any computer software and telecommunications equipment. Customer service outbound workers may benefit from speaking more than one language.
