Marketing Customer Service Manager Overview

A marketing customer service manager is responsible for creating a positive image for a brand, a company or its products. This could include identifying potential customers, communicating with said customers through social media channels or finding the right way to advertise products to a certain demographic. The customer service aspect might involve overseeing company representatives who communicate directly with customers through social media, email correspondence, over the phone or in writing. In some cases, managers may also communicate with customers to learn more about common complaints and address those issues on a large scale.

For most managerial positions in marketing or customer service, a bachelor's degree is required Possible college majors that students can pursue include marketing, business, consumer behavior, advertising or communications. In addition to a minimum of a bachelor's degree, experience in social media, comfort with marketing software programs and expert communication skills will be helpful for the position of marketing customer service manager. Adding a minor in a niche field can go a long way in securing a specific customer service job like that of customer service director, customer service engineer or customer care billing advisor.
