Treasury Manager Jobs
Treasury Manager Overview
Treasury managers work hard to conceptualize an organization's cost and revenue streams and to look after company funds. The manager also uses his or her financial abilities to study how long-term fiscal choices affect a company's bottom line. Managers can then help steer their employers towards smart financial decisions.
The responsibilities of treasury managers typically include financial planning, raising capital, creating budget forecasts, managing funds, directing the treasury department and preparing financial reports. Treasury managers are expected to travel frequently. They meet with customers and join financial associations to stay up to date with the latest news in the industry.
Successful treasury managers quickly adapt to a fast-paced and dynamic environment, carefully handle confidential data and effectively lead their team of financial experts. Typically, they have excellent written and verbal abilities, and they work well with other employees both inside and outside of their department. Treasury manager jobs are an ideal fit for highly organized and results-oriented people.
Corporate treasury management is lucrative, exciting and stimulating. This job attracts people who have an affinity for money management and investment banking.
Organizations typically hire treasury managers who have a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or information systems. An increasing number of companies require a master's degree or accounting certification for senior positions.
Many treasury managers are certified public accountants. The manager must have good analytic and interpersonal skills and feel comfortable with talking numbers and developing relationships with trading partners, providers and brokers.
