Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.- Enters, maintains, and/or processes information in the payroll system; information may include employees' hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses or other compensation, time worked, paid leave and holidays, deductions and withholding, address changes, and other information.- Ensures proper processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions.- Records and processes federal and state payroll tax deposits.- A Washington, D.C. based government contracting firm is seeking an internal Human Resource and Payroll Specialist to run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department including on-boarding / off-boarding, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices as well as process payroll and maintain employee time records.
