Human Resource Manager Jobs
Human Resources Manager Overview
Human Resources Managers are primarily responsible for finding, interviewing and training new employees within a company. They are the resident expert in ensuring that employee matters are handled to meet all applicable federal and state laws. While their primary focus is to oversee the hiring and placement of new staff, they are also called upon to conduct a variety of analyses from compensation to benefits packages and employee performance. They also serve as the main point of contact between employees and various managerial teams. Human Resources Managers usually work during normal business hours but may be asked to work overtime during periods of higher hiring volumes.
Human Resources Manager Education Requirements
In order to obtain a job as a Human Resources Manager, you will need to have a minimum of a bachelor's degree from an accredited college. In some cases, competition for these jobs is considerably greater and requires candidates to have a more advanced degree. Human Resources Managers in larger cities will often have to have a master's degree in order to be considered for a position. Successful candidates will have several years of experience as an HR generalist. They will also need to have advanced computer skills and in-depth knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet products as well as different human resources-specific software applications.

The job outlook for new Human Resources Manager positions is positive; statistics show that this field is expected to grow 13 percent over the next 10 years, about as fast as the growth expected for the overall job market. Statistics estimate that there are approximately 102,700 people employed as Human Resources Managers, and many additional opportunities exist. A similar position would be a Business Operations, HR and Financial Services Position.
