Human Resources Jobs

Human Resources Job Overview

One of the most important departments of any large business is the human resources department. It is this department that manages how the company hires, fires, disciplines, trains and pays its employees.

There are many different positions that come under the umbrella of human resources. For example, hiring managers oversee the task of finding potential candidates for positions within the company and vetting them to make sure they’re qualified. Another HR position is the labor relations manager. This type of manager is often utilized by businesses that have a unionized workforce. The labor relations manager helps both the employees and the business owners come to terms on issues regarding pay, working conditions and other grievances.

Human Resources Job Education Requirements

Almost all Human Resources jobs require secondary education. Usually, a bachelor’s degree is expected. Bachelor’s degrees in management and business probably work best, but a degree in any liberal arts field may suffice. In addition to obtaining a degree, a person needs to obtain human resources certification. This certification requires that a person be trained in different subjects that are important for proper human resources management such as employment laws and accounting techniques.
