Visitor and access control is a physical security measure utilizing physical and administrative controls primarily concerned with the protection of sensitive and/or classified information, personnel, facilities, or other sensitive materials, resources, or processes against criminal, terrorist, insider threat, or hostile intelligence activities with the goal of ensuring access to facilities and information is restricted based on need-to-know, authorization, and in accordance with command security policy. Support established security programs (e.g., personnel, physical, information, or industrial security) when such work requires, additionally, general administrative and or clerical skills, practical knowledge of specific security objectives, programs, methods and procedures, and skills in carrying out support tasks related to security administration.
