VP of Operations - Logistics Job Overview


Logistics and data analysis are the backbone of a company's operations, and a strong logistics network can separate high-performing companies from the rest of the pack. A vice president for logistics operations will be required to plan and implement a division or corporate-wide strategy for the successful utilization of warehouse space, product shipment, supply chain management and fleet maintenance. The field of logistics is expected to grow nationally by 22 percent over the next few years. This means that vice presidents who are managing logistics will be offered chances to lead a larger workforce. As of 2012, the Bureau of Labor Statistics noted that there were 125,900 logisticians in the United States, not including all of the support personnel, maintenance workers or procurement personnel who make up the entire supply chain.
