Depending on the company, production food technologists also study soil composition to see how it relates to proper plant growth, communicating their research findings to food producers, the scientific community and the public. With additional employment opportunities available in the agricultural and the food service industries, technologists need to be willing to travel between facilities and oversee new project implementation.
