Technical Project Manager Education Requirements


Individuals who wish to ascertain a position as a technical project manager need to have a bachelor's degree in information or computer sciences as well as previous work experience in a related field. Some companies prefer to hire those who have earned their graduate degree, proving a proficiency in computer and business administration. Depending on the position, technical project managers need to have a minimum of five years of work experience. Individuals need to be knowledgeable in various technologies, such as customer relationship management, development environment, and Web platform development software. Additional expertise through the obtainment of a certificate increases one's chances of being hired on as a Web project manager or a IT project manager.
