The scope of the assignment area is substantial and includes defining information requirements, monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on important political, social, and economic developments, providing guidance to policy makers in interpreting and applying data to the development of policy that that promotes social and economic development, integrates women into peace and security building that advances stability and peace, and ensures participation in civic and political life for women, pursuing and maintaining productive relationships within the foreign affairs community, and carrying out special research studies and related projects that address critical global women’s issues and health initiatives as part of educating women of broad scope and importance. Recognized as an expert throughout the foreign affairs community and the interagency on global women’s issues, the incumbent represents the Ambassador, Special Envoy, and other high-level Bureau Officials in high-level interagency and Department meetings, and serves as liaison to the office of the Secretary, senior Department officials and other relevant Executive Branch Agencies engaged in international women’s policies and programs including the U.S. Agency of International Development (USAID), MCC, Department of Justice (DOJ), Department of Labor (DOL), Department of Energy (DOE), Health & Human Services (HHS),Department of Agriculture (DOA),Department of Defense (DOD) and Department of Commerce (DOC).
