MLT Position Description: Must possess the appropriate level of skill and knowledge for laboratory areas including, but not limited to hematology, clinical microscopy, immunology, microbiology, chemistry, immunohematology, specimen collection, specimen processing, results reporting, quality assurance, and laboratory safety Ability to effectively communicate through verbal and written means Ability to work independently and to interact professionally with patients, staff, physicians, co-workers, and other hospital department employees Must have a high degree of integrity, initiative, and self-organization, and to make medical and technical judgments as required, with supervisory assistance Education/Experience: Successful completion of an Associate#s Degree from an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician Program MLT certification by ASCP, AMT, AAB or other nationally recognized certification agency New graduates must pass one of the national certification exams within 18 months of hire Competency assessment and continuing education in laboratory sciences required throughout employment Maintenance of certification is required during employment with Archbold Medical Center Experience as deemed necessary to be accordance with certification by the Georgia Department of Human Resources What Sets Us Apart Archbold Medical Center is a four-hospital, three nursing-home health system with 540 patient beds.
