Primary Responsibilities Manage a small team of Manufacturing Engineers Identify and drive technical risk reduction efforts Lead cost reduction and process improvement projects Understand and improve manufacturing work instructions, including document configuration Provide manufacturing support and technical leadership for large, high cost, low volume composite and polymer parts Able to perform hands-on work supporting part fabrication, evaluation, and testing as needed Ensure and support on time delivery of products to meet the customers’ needs Work with floor supervisors, quality assurance, and technicians to achieve schedule and address technical issues Able to travel domestically up to 20% when circumstances permit Interface with the customer’s to ensure product/process requirements are being met Perform other duties as required Basic Qualifications: Requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and typically a minimum of 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance Familiar with composite material processing, for example prepreg and/or infusion methods Experience with castable polymers Experience establishing and tracking a project and/or program schedule utilizing MS Project or equivalent software program Experience with MS Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) Preferred Qualifications: Experience with composite mold design Experience with composite ply design and ply flattening Experience with urethane materials and urethane material processing Experience with fabricating bonded assemblies Experience with Solidworks for both 3D models and 2D drawings Experience with GD&T Knowledge of mechanics of materials and basic mechanical analysis Knowledge of Continuous Improvement Tools (Lean, Six Sigma, ACE or CORE) Collins Aerospace, a Raytheon Technologies company, is a leader in technologically advanced and intelligent solutions for the global aerospace and defense industry.
