Marine Safety Officer (MSO) shall: Comply with AML’s Integrated Management System (IMS) and all relevant rules and regulations; Ensure duties are executed in accordance with quality, health, safety, security, environmental and ethics policies as applicable; Propose a continuous personal performance improvement plan periodically reviewed; Assist in SSE responsibilities for assigned vessels; Work with assigned vessels to enhance the safety culture by addressing near misses, incidents, non-conformities, STCW work/rest compliance, injuries/illness, safety topics/concerns/training/meetings, and security concerns; Ensure: The implementation of the Integrated Management System (IMS); Good communication between shoreside departments and the vessels; and. Perform SSE training of shore departments and ship staff as required; Participate in monitoring regulations; Act as a point of contact with the flag administrations and support the Fleet department with the classification societies (RO) as necessary; Participate in the Emergency Response Team (ERT) when activated; Be available to travel worldwide; May be designated as Deputy DPA, CSO, or Deputy CSO with following duties:Follow the duties of the DPA/CSO during absence if required; Monitor and follow of ISM, ISPS, MLC, ISO, and flag audits & certifications for all vessels; Remain a contact point with Flag administration or RO in case of casualty; and.
